1) National Library of India is in Kolkata. This is under ministry of culture , Dept of Culture n Tourism. Govt of India. before independence it used to be residence of Lt. Governor of Bengal.Prince Dwarkanath Thakur , the then zaminder was one of the founder of the Calcutta public library which is now known as national library.

2) Bidhan Chandra Ray was the second Chief minister of Bengal. National Doctors day is being celebrated on the birthday of the Bharat Ratna awardee Physician & freedom fighter. He was friend & doctor of MK Gandhi.

3) Medical College,Kolkata or Calcutta Medical College was established in 1835 as the first college of European medicine in Asia & India.

1) Teen Murti - the 3 statues were established in 1922 in honor of the three Indian princely states ,namely; Jodhpur, Hyderabad & Mysore after there contribution in World War I by serving in present day Gaza Strip, Israel, Palestine,etc, was architectured by the famous Robert Tor Russel who also designed Connaught Place and few parts of Janpath.

2) The Nehru Memorial Museum & Library (NMML) is a library in New Delhi, India, which aims to preserve and reconstruct the history of the Indian independence movement.Today, the Nehru Memorial Library is the world’s leading resource centre on India’s first prime minister. It is also one of the best library in Delhi for Social Sciences.

Visit Report of Sunderban Visit (WB) for NGO

On 27th of june 2009 i had visited sunderban. when few days back IndiaSudar,the NGO with which i am linked had received a request of Donation for a Primary school on Sunderban. IndiaSudar dont Have any IS member in Kolkata & being from kolkata the responsibilty came over me.Thanks to God ,at that time tself i have taken 3 day leave for my personal purpose & luckily i have managed 1 day from that 3 days!. The below visit report is almost self explanatorly if you wish to read on.

AmraSabai is Community service Organization which was Started on 1970 under the leadership & guidance of Bibhuti Ranjan Mishra a National Youth Award recepeint for his excellent & dedicated service for community services. The club is located in the southern fringe of SUNDARBANS of South 24-Parganas district of West Bengal and criss-crossed by saline rivulets and rivers which is having headcount/ population of 25000 as per the census made on 2001 mostly uneducated farmers who residining in this area fighting with floods, droughts and cyclones which devastate everything of them on almost everyyear.

But there is a hope.a light put on the darkness almost 4 decades back which takes initiative on the following programme to help & integrat social and economic development for the local communities, especially the families living in poverty.The initiatives taken by amrasabai can be classified under 3 arms.

1) Women & child development

2) Education

3) Agriculture & training

Regarding women & child devolopment they run various campaign with the association with state & centtral govt association specially Ramkrishna mission, Narendrapur.

Regarding education My findings are given below:

1) Children belonging to poor and unprivileged sections of community are taught on the primary school run by Amrasabai named Shibshankar Sishu Niketan upto Class 4.

2) Total Number of students: 150

3) Number of faculties: 6 {one more added recently}

4) Infrastructure of the school:

i) The schools has 4 room & one big barandah & another hut for studying wiith a concrete structure of Two-storied building with 800 Sq ft floor space each.

ii) There is tubewell on the school Compound + Sanitary system

iii) A 500 Sq ft round shape bricks construction straw roof training house in addition to the main school building.

iv) A sizable number of sports equipment, library books, musical equipment, Color TV & DVD player including alternator being used for various training programs and awareness generation programs & for school .

5) There is also School van facilty for students who come from remote area on a very nominal charge of Rs 3/4 which is generally borne by the parents.

6) There is a tution fee associated for childrens which is Rs 15 per month which is solely for the purpose of providing tution fees/salary to teacher as its not govt funded.

7) Nearby secondary school is in 2/5 km distance & There is a govt primary school which is 2 Km far.

8) Cost expensed for running the school: 1 lakh per year

9) Salaries of the faculties: Rs 600- Rs 1100 per month per teacher.

10) There is no mid day meal system on the school.

11) Clothes are given on the behalf of school . noteboooks & books are borrne by student itself.

12) Earlier they have received some one time monetary grant & financial assistance from foreign organisation { Australian High Commission & The Royal Netherlands Embassy, New Delhi ] but now they dont receive such financial aid for running this school.

13) The school has a good & playgound with all the necessary sports equipment.

14) There is lack of table & chairs in classroom so student sits on floor.

MAIN PPROBLEM THEY ARE CUURENTLY FACING:

Due to non availabilty of any financial AID by any organisation they are on the verge of closing this 4 decade long institute which is providing quality education since 1970 on the most backward part of west bengal.any sort of assistance iit can be financial or though providing notebooks, clothes etc for the students will be joyfully welcomed

Various Training Programmes initiatives:

Training programmes have been organised with support from different cooperating agencies viz. soil testing and gardening; awareness camp on non-conventional energy; bio-gas, awareness on AIDS/HIV; cultivation of medicinal plant; scientific storage of food grains; food processing, gardening; disaster management; pollution control; agricultural practices demonstration-cum-training; computer application; poultry farming; sewing and knitting training etc.

Awareness programme initiatives:

1) Water harvesting Technology & use of organic manure through compost pit and vermiculture.

2) Land shaping.

3) Rain water harvesting

4) Scientific fish culture

What not to do when you are desperate about having a girl friend !!

My target readers

* If you are a guy, age >=20 and never had a girl in your life....welcome to the club. Read this very seriously.
* If you are a guy, single now but had a girl in your life in past.... it might or might not help you but still, welcome to the club.
* If you are a guy, not single then reading this is not worth your time.
* If you are a girl there is nothing new here, I know most of you are omniscient.

On a random day, at orkut / facebook while going through your friends friend list/community you come across a random girl and you get an instant feeling that she is the "one" for you. In the next few mins u drop a scrap & probably sent friend request, with the common question "your picture is so nice can we b friends?"...Now that's the beginning. as soon as she without knowing the consequence, reply you. you start loading her inbox/scrapbook with messages, forwards, funny mails, quotes testimonials etc etc., . You are always online for her and the moment she comes online the question pops up on her window, "Hey hi, wass up?" after some day talking, you might be able to take her number. then you increase tata indicom & reliance business revenue by subscribing unlimited talk plans & start calling her every day.After that you take the next step & tell her to come for a date. incase if you had seen her then you always go to places where there is a chance of seeing her. You try to run in to her and pretend that it was accidental. You wear nice dresses and try to look good on the days when there is a high probability of meeting her. but here comes the twist.

For the first few days she picks up the phone, then slowly she starts giving the busy tone and the next stage is total avoidance. But, you always believe that she is interested in you or at least you don't want to accept the truth. For some of you the big day comes when you express your feelings to her and you don't even have to wait for her reply, it is generally, "I did not see you in that way, can we be just friends?". Some don't even reach that stage, they hide their feelings, but in either case one thing is common, the girl's name ends up being the password for the next few months.

As soon as they realize that they have reached the "age", guys start trying to impress girls. Some try to show-off that they are smart/cool and some have this weird belief that girls consider stupid guys as cute. Intelligence to innocence, being introvert to extrovert, being classy to messy, strong to weak ...anything and everything, every guy has own strategy. I don't know who came up with this quote "Everything is fair in love and war", he (not she! ) must probably have been one of them. I don't know why guys fail to understand that girls are smart enough to understand all these and why would not they? Even before they realize that they are "girls", guys start hitting on them, one after the other, day and night, not allowing them even to breathe properly.

After reading till here some of you might be in dilemma whether you are really desperate or not. It's very easy to come to a conclusion. Take a paper and answer the following questions in Yes or No

1. Whenever you see a girl walking on the road ahead of you, Do you increase your walking speed, walk past her and then turn back to see her face?
2. Do you become very conscious about what you are talking or reacting, when you are around with girls?
3. Do you try to be extra smart/cool or someone else in order to impress girls?
4. Do you think staying clam or moody when in a group makes the girl think about you?
5. You ask a girl to join you for lunch or coffee; do you think a YES from other side is an indication that she is interested in you?
6. Do you keep staring at girls?
7. Are you ready to date a girl even if she is around with someone else as well?

8. Do you feel frustrated when you see couples on park, Movie or shopping mall & curse you luck for being single?
9. Is "Girls" the main topic of all your discussions with your friends?

If you find even a single "YES" in the paper then YOU ARE DESPERATE. Be a man, accept it.

Now the real question "What not to do when you are desperate about having a girl friend?"

Did you actually believe that I would come up with some solution or tips? Had I known it, would I be still single & writing this blog at 3 in the morning on friendship day without having no girl to wish? It was just a trick to make you guys read this one. But, I have one tip though, first and foremost STOP being desperate {same apply to me also}. I know that it is difficult. At least try not to show that you are desperate. The rule is simple, "No one in this world cares for a thing that is easily gettable" and FYI girls are never worried about finding a guy and why do they have to? Did you ever come across a girl who never had a BF or never been proposed by a guy? If yes, then that's a miracle, you met a rare species or an extinct one in this world.

If you got the tip that you wanted and don't want to read any further it's fine. But, I would recommend reading further. Trust me, keep reading.

We know that we are the ones who make the girls realize that they are important, treat them as if they are precious, tell them that they are beautiful and show that they are in demand. We buy them gifts, spend all the money we have,call them daily, do their work/assignments in college/office, roam around with them all the time & be their caretaker!, carry their stuff and in the end what do we get in return? a few thanks with a fake smile and an offer to be a good friend!!!!! Do we need all this? If 1/1000 th of the time wasted on a girl is spent on a guy you will find a friend for a lifetime.Just play some game together or watch a movie, have a night out, having a hangover throughout the next day is more fun than spending the same night

with your girl in a pub buying her drinks, talking crap, listening crap, making some crap moves..... What ever i am desperate to let the truth come.

I know that at some point of time in your life you might have realized all this. But, there is a need to educate the rest and also pass on the message to the future generations.From today being the friendship day lets make a promise. I dream of a day when guys are in demand and girls start worrying about finding a guy. I hope the day comes soon & the number of competitor in the game of getting a girlfriend decreases thus increasing my chance of getting mingle on next valentine:) ......ha ha ha

A Sweet Encounter

After the pathetic last post, as promised earlier going to update the blog after 4 months! Though as opposed to what has been promised this post may not be good at content & doesnt at all has any literary content but still the experience which led me to write this post is a mind changing one for me & all credit of this post goes to a final year engg student of delhi college of engineering to whom i am dedicating the post.now let me go directly to the story as prologue has already been written.

10:30 am ,17th jan 2010: it was saturday & worst part –yes i was at office for some urgent work which comes on every weekend in my project. I received a call from arnab , my ex-ibm colleague who told me about a girl who has shown interest over a IndiaSudar project {its an NGO on which i am a part, primarily for the upliftment of education in poors} once we have visisted to execute.arnab had received an email from her & informed me to guide her as presently i am the only person staying in noida & was part of the visit made 9 months back on the orphanage—named saikripa.

I opened my mailbox & read the forwarded mail chains & sensed the eagerness driven by excitement, of the girl to work as a part time teacher for our doomed project.there was a cv attached-& taking just a glance over the CV i came to know that the girl is damn talented.as the mail came from gmail i did some googling on orkut to find her profile & know more about her.

By this my official job is done on ibm & i left for home.after taking my lunch i dialled her no to find a sweet voice behind the receiver , full of enthusiasm & excitement.without wasting much time we fixed a meeting keeping in mind that as the earlier assessment of SaiKripa was done 9 months back & present scenario may change so we need to make a fresh visit on today. 4:30pm was decided for meeting at Botanical garden metro station.

At said venue i meet a very beatiful girl waiting for me with her dearest white punto :) we started conversation while going & found her a decent girl , talented & with good principles in life.you can say like minded people infact :) we have gone there spent 30 mins on SaiKripa, discussed various issues about the orphanage & she confirmed about the dates & time she is interested to come untill her final sem starts again. But in order to stop i have to wrap up here cause something i want to confess futher increasing the lenght thus boring you.anyway it ended at GIP mall as she dropped me there.

For couple of reasons the meeting was pretty inportant for me:

1)her eagerness , excitement regarding the teaching at SaiKripa reminded my college days when i used to do lot of things apart from my study. Those days has gone & day by day i am losing most of the skill & versatality i had in doing a job where i dont even get the scope to utilise my skill at max & learn more to reach & complete the work. Honestly speaking my job sucks! Atleast its not suitable for me keeping in mind the type of guy i am.but again as right now i am not interested to go back & study again & in the end of month it offers me a decent salary by which i invest on my “crazy cum continous changing hobbies”!!but this this is the only way i try to keep myself out of frustation as they say “its not lack of knowledge/talent that leads to frustation but its knowing that you have talent & never getting scope to utilize it/never using it”
2)“if you have good friend circle its supposed to make your upliftment”. I have that kind of friends from whom i really get inspired but at noida there is none! So i am just a poor 9-8pm office goer. Neither i dream big nor think big, the thing which i use to do when i was in college.
3)Sometimes i used to think there are very few like minded peoples do exist who think differently.after a long day i meet such kind.
Ending with a lesson i am following after the encounter - “Life is short; many things to do in such a short time where the best is yet to come so keep trying to be good & do good & dont use your precious energy wasting for some valueless stuff.”

i know the flow at last part was a bit loose but i am sorry its 3pm & i am feeling damn sleepy. 18/1/10

Reflection

“What the hell is going on Here? God knows what happened & when this fucking Signal will be green” Rishi said arrogantly putting off his helmet.

He spat & wore the helmet again when he tasted the Acidic smell punched with dust & Noise of the people stuck in the Traffic.2 mins in jam & he became so irritated! As they said when you have short time it passes fast.

“Teri ma ki” – that’s what an auto driver shouted when he lost his all patience in the Jam. but the reason for his outburst is not only because he was stuck but Someone has knocked his new auto bought on bank loan. There are some things for these people which is excessively precious for them –one if it serves their family & two if it is brand new & bought on loan

Rishi wasn’t irritated because he was facing Jam first time in kolkata at Hazra Building Crossing. Its a normal sight for everyone who have to go across this way. Forget about traffic density in kolkata. Every day whenever a Red light ambassador of some govt. bureaucrat/minister passes through this road to catch flight or see of their spouse/relative at dumdum Airport, traffic here came to a stand. Though to pass the crossing it hardly takes 5 minutes in a vacant & security driven convoy but as you know preparation takes more than execution.

Yes Rishi had found a way. He managed to make a way of his bike by his skill full driving. “Oh that’s it!” Rishi said when he saw some people formed a circle enclosing a victim. Yes it was a road accident just happened five minutes before.A speedy Car crushed him after breaking traffic. some were hesitating to touch & carry to hospital if police create any nuisance saying that you are the culprit who had crushed him. Who wants to indulge himself with police even tough your humanity cries & pay bribe from your own pocket to get rid off just because you helped a victim who is of desperate need of an ambulance? Certainly not you & I .our time is very precious & we have more responsibilities to perform in such a small amount of time!

“Others will take care.The traffic surgeon is nearby I suppose I can’t be more late” that’s what knocked Rishi’s mind & instantly he accelerated his bike bypassing the Hesitation & Victim. The very next moment when he realized that How hard it was for Sriparna to manage time for a Date avoiding office responsibilities, he changed the gear & accelerated more.This IT companies treat the employees as slaves, Suited booted educated English speaking slave who have to give their whole personal life for some boring copy pasting job. “India has talent. Lots of talent & in bloody cheaper price”

“Yes” Rishi face filled with Joy. He saw Sriparna coming.It was just a road difference between them. For three months they hadn’t meet although they had stayed in same city & now distance would be vanished if sriparna cross this 10 metre road. Their eyes met, They smiled again. she was looking extremely gorgeous on her pink Tshirt. she stepped on the road.

But sriparna hadn’t crossed the road. Two private speeding buses madly trying to overtake each other for taking more passengers crushed her under the killer wheels. Again circle was formed & probably again someone had left a victim alone thinking someone else will take care.

1)Is the Search Finally OVER?

I have never, ever thought that one day i will be writing my blog for a girl & specially on “diary writing style” because i have created my blog for a sole purpose not just filling it up with day by day stuff! Anyway due to work pressure that purpose had taken a back seat but not yet completely wiped out from my mind.

Now as you know girl is the most interesting & most discussed topic in this world and Girls one among the kind for which a guy can fall on his knees & probably thats why i am writing this sole piece dedicating her only.

The Protagonist of this article is a guy & not any fictional character created by me, this time its me! Though the person hasnt gone crazy for a girl who has joined his team recently but surely he is liking that girl on the extent of heaven.it has been some weeks she has joined our team & you know what - i havent even talked too much with her neither i do know much about her but i have some gifted qualities of judging people simply by his/her behavior or by face value and i can tell you what kind of person he or she is, if given a scope to interact with him/her, at least at surface level.

So based on that god gifted quality which is quite good in most of the times, i dared to find out what kind of girl she is.if you blend beauty with innocense & keep it wherever you want it will surely let his/her presence felt. To my goodness she sits just opposite to me and whenever i look at her you wont believe that i forget everything,whatever the matter it is. i know her eyes has enigma though her face is simple but i really dare to peep through those dark eyes to unravel the secret of her heart! Atleast at this moment.

But i always want to dip! and accidentally when our eyes met, its strange that i feel odd & some sort of uncomfortableness grasp me.dont know how respect comes automatically & i put my eyes down on a strange feeling! Right now i am not getting the exact word but i dont see her on the way sometimes i do watch Delhi girls! Her face has some sort of majic that had tamed this monkey.

she is basically homely girl, “The girl next door type” - beautiful,decent,quiet ,conserved,intelligent,determined,concentrated along with the thirst of knowing/learning something. i mean the way she is learning the application without ever opening orkut or chatting or loitering or gossiping with others which generally we or her newly joined counterpart friends used to do. {i came to know all these because whenever i go for a coffe i take a look what she is doing, thats the reason my productivity is going down these days :( & today i had a boring status meeting with my manager} she is the one who is staying on her own world but still connected with us!

Honestly speaking i am really bowled by this girl, its not that i always do get bowled by beautiful girls but this googlie has some charm on its own. Its neither love at first kind type nor a feeling that usually comes when you stay single for 22 years and ready to be mingle to make your number even.its a sort of crush but a special one. now having crush or falling in love is totally different thing.crush can reach to the later level if given that opportunity & time along with commitment.And when you surely know that love is the thing which isnt written by destiny for you then there is no point of daydreaming like udhay chopra of Dhoom & start flirting or chatting & loading her inbox with unnecessary funy mails full of flowers & jokes in the dream of making a girlfriend anyway so that you get rid off of your singlehood status & feel like a man! & again be single when you just dont need her thus playing & destroying her emotions!

Nops! I am not that kind of guy though i do complain that i am frusated of my single tag & want to get out of this,but on my heart i am a bit defensive/cautious over this particular thing.you may contradict saying “love is not something where you cant decide with logic & fall in love but its a spontaneous feeling that happens when a soul touches another or in science term frequency matches”.but you know one thing in this world, today getting true love is like searching Uranium235 in whole universe where every decision we take to be in relationship generally comes two feet above from our heart not from heart.thats why maybe this particular species is still single & waiting for a rare species in world who is quite different from others , a special ones who inspite of staying on the same world is someway special, very special. she wont be like whom you can identify easily but its also not like that you can never identify her. Time will give this answer but right now without going on the controversy neither trying to redefine love on my own term i have to stop here, i can go on & on but PERIOD

oh by the way she is from Rajasthan.
